DELICIOUS DINING OPTIONS WITH A VIEW OF FRENCHMAN BAY
Our sister property, the Bar Harbor Inn, offers two fabulous choices for dinner – The Reading Room Restaurant OR the Downeast Lobster Bake on the Terrace Grille.
Reading Room Restaurant: You may choose any of the following off of the menu: a soup/salad, entrée, dessert, and non-alcoholic beverage for each person. For a sample menu, click here. Advanced reservations are suggested for the Reading Room Restaurant and can be made online here.
Terrace Grille: On the Terrace Grille, enjoy a traditional Downeast Maine Lobster Bake for either lunch or dinner. No advanced reservations are required. The Lobster Bake fixed menu is as follows: a 1 ¼ lb whole Maine lobster*, steamers, homemade New England clam chowder, fresh corn on the cob, steamed baby red potatoes, fresh baked bread/rolls, and wild Maine blueberry pie for dessert. Please note that you can have lobster in both the Reading Room Restaurant and at the Terrace Grille. *Lobster may be substituted with steak or chicken.
Reservations: We would be happy to make your reservations for the Reading Room Restaurant upon your arrival. The Lobster Bake on the Terrace Grille does not require (or accept) reservations.
MEMORABLE ACTIVITY OPTIONS
Harbor Cruise: Join Downeast Windjammers for a sail among the islands of Frenchman’s Bay aboard one of their historic schooner vessels. The harbor cruise is approximately 2 hours long, and meanders around the Porcupine Islands, providing beautiful scenery and incomparable views of Mount Desert Island from the water. This relaxing cruise offers 3 sails per day at 10 AM, 2 PM, and sunset.
Acadia National Park Bus Tour: The Acadia National Park Tour offers 2 ½ – 3 hours of Acadia’s best sights and historical information about the area on an air-conditioned bus. Stops include the top of Cadillac Mountain, Thunder Hole, and the Wild Gardens of Acadia. The Acadia National Park Tour offers 2 tours per day at 10 AM and 2 PM.
